General Objectives:
- Detect and develop mathematical talents who will represent the school in various national and international mathematical competitions.
- Sharing knowledge, helping our students overcome their limits and expectations.
Specific Objectives:
- Create a training group with the most talented students from eighth and above. These students would officially belong to the school’s Math Club.
- Form teams of those who will represent the school in the different mathematical competitions to participate in.
- Maintain a successful Math Club capable of becoming academically self-sufficient within three years.
Activities
The training the club will receive includes two weekly, two-hour classes, live, online, and fully interactive. Weekly assignments, assignment tracking, access to the discussion forum, school handouts, practice tests, and access to the virtual classroom outside of class time for student-organized study sessions.
As the “competition season” approaches, the teams that will represent the school in the Olympics will be selected from among the club’s students. A weekly problem list will also be maintained, allowing students to work on their own problems and receive feedback from their coach. To maintain a constantly competitive environment among club members, a weekly ranking will be published so that students feel motivated to participate throughout the year.
Resources and Teams
A qualified coach will be assigned by Mathletas, who will be responsible for developing the training for the selection groups formed at the school. Additionally, each school will be assigned a tutor who will meet weekly with the students to develop strategies complementary to the training. Training sessions consist of four hours per week spread over two days and two hours per day. This detail does not include the hours of preparation, grading, planning, and evaluation, which, it is understood, also entail a human cost borne by Mathletas S.A.S. We have several Olympic mathematicians at your disposal, with experience both as competitors and as coaches, who meet the required profile to train new competitors.
